The following represents our various opening of school events at OFMS:
- The first day of school will be on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. Upon entering the building at 8:20 AM on this day, students should stop by their lockers if needed and then go directly to their first period class. We no longer have homeroom and our first period will begin at 8:30 AM.
- Our 6th graders will receive their schedules and locker combinations and assignments at their WEB Orientation from 8:00-12:30 PM on Friday, August 12, 2016. Our 6th graders and their parents may walk the building and load their child’s locker during our 6th Grade Open Campus from 12:30-3:00 PM on Friday, August 12, 2016.
- Our 7th & 8th graders will receive their schedules and locker combinations and assignments at their 7th & 8th Grade Open Campus from 12:30-3:00 PM on Thursday, August 11, 2016. Our 7th & 8th graders and their parents may walk the building and load their child’s locker during this 7th & 8th Grade Open Campus.
- There will be an orientation program for NEW to OFMS 7th & 8th grade students from 9:30-11:00 AM on Thursday, August 11, 2016. This event is for new students only.
- Grade level parent nights are as follow:
- 6th Grade: Wednesday, August 10, 2016, from 6:45-8:00 PM
- 7th Grade: Wednesday, September 7, 2016, from 7:00-8:00 PM
- 8th Grade: Tuesday, September 6, 2016, from 7:00-8:00 PM
- There is an additional parent night for parents of students who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and who receive special education services from 7:00-8:00 PM on Monday, August 8, in the OFMS Cafetorium. Parents will meet their child’s IEP case manager and will be able to schedule their child’s IEP annual review meeting.
